Heartbreaking News. Sri Sisir Kumar Neogi, the founder Secretary General and Advisor of the Institution of Public Health Engineers, India (IPHE), breathed his last at 6:45 am on Friday (January 26, 2024).
The passing of Sisir Kumar Neogi, affectionately known as "Sisir da," marks the end of an era for the IPHE community. He was a respected leader, a dependable friend and mentor, always ready to tackle challenges in IPHE. Serving as Secretary General from 1972 to 2018, his leadership was crucial in organizing events and training programs across the country.
Sisir da was not just a professional; he was also a talented poet, writing over a hundred poems that gained recognition from the poetry community. His brainchild, "Pratham Som," a monthly cultural gathering initiated more than two decades ago, provided a platform for IPHE members to indulge in literature, poetry and other cultural activities.
The IPHE community is saddened by the loss of a visionary leader, thankful for Sisir da's lasting contributions. As we bid farewell, our thoughts and prayers are with his family. May Sri Sisir Kumar Neogi rest in peace, leaving a legacy that echoes within IPHE.
