Activities:

1. Undertaking training programmes : To name a few IPHE has completed

• DFID sponsored training programme for Community Development Societies for Slum improvement for KMA municipalities

• In-Service training of Asstt. Engineers and Sub – Asstt. Engineers of Calcutta Municipal Corporation since 2007

• Various tailor-made training programme sponsored by various Organisation

2. Organising Workshops, Seminars, and Conference at Regional, National and International Level.

28 National Conference and 3 International conferences (1 at Delhi and 2 at Kolkata) have already been organised. The International Conference have been organised I collaboration with Loughborough University, UK each which was attended by over 150 foreign delegates from more than 50 Countries.

The Headquarters along delegates the Regional Centre observe World Environmental Day, World Water Day, World Health Day, Public Health Engineers Day, etc in collaboration with UNICEF, WHO and other international Agencies and Govt. Bodies.

3. Undertaking Collaboration R&D and other programme.

To name a few: IPHE was completed:

• Hindustan Unilever sponsored Study on performance evaluation of domestic filter for removal of arsenic and microbial contamination.

• Study on P.V.C. Pipes for Water Supply, Sponsored by Tata Group

• World Bank sponsored Bio-medical Waste Management Programme in 52 Government Hospitals around Kolkata.

4. Brining out Technical Journals.

5. Representing in learned bodies, committees, commissioners formed by Govt. of India & State Government.
